Beginner Avocation

An activity one engages in regularly for enjoyment.

It is a beginner class for all school aged kids to enjoy. 

No, this class is suitable for everyone from ages 4-11. 

All of our beginner Avo classes are 1 hour long. 

Every gymnast needs a water bottle and appropriate clothing. 

We have many leotards available on site to buy, along with hoodies, t-shirts, shorts and leggings. 

In this class your child will begin with a dynamic warm up and stretch.

They will then participate in lines to insure they are fully warmed up and prepared to go on apparatus. 

After completing their lines they follow a lesson plan on 2 different gymnastic apparatus focusing on learning basic gymnastics skills in a safe and controlled environment before playing a game to finish of their class. 

We do not currently have a viewing gallery or area for you to stay and watch your child's class, 

They will have an introduction to the basic and main foundations of gymnastics and learn how to use all 4 apparatus safely. 

All of our AVO programs work towards completing our badge scheme. 

We complete an assessment for their badge three times a year in the spring, summer and winter. 

When they complete their level they receive a certificate of achievement and Peacock badge. 

Recreational competitions are a great way for your gymnast to show off their hard work they put into their weekly classes. 

Your gymnast will compete one floor/bench and vault/trampette. 

For our AVO gymnasts competing on these safer apparatuses helps diminish worries and makes the competiiton as stress free as possible leaving room for fun and excitement! 

Competitions are a great way for all children to develop self confidence, motivation and determination to do their best, prepare for real life situations, and can often boost their skill development. 

With the oppurtunity to progress through 10 different levels it showcases their improvement each competition and gives them goals to strive for alongside our badge program. 

With our AVO competitions being hosted at PGA it makes it a great place to explore this pathway in a homely environment with apparatus and coaches they trust.

At PGA we follow a strict Code of Conduct to keep everyone as safe as possible during classes to insure the maximum amount of fun for everyone. We expect all of our parents and gymnasts to follow our rules.
